Hudson Lake

April 1, 1981

Hudson, born and raised in Bennington VT, graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in 69’. He spent his adolescence hunting game and tinkering with cars but had no real direction.  He attended the Woodstock music festival in the summer 2 months after his high school graduation which led to the following years advocating peace and love (especially with the ladies - - who fall for his enchanting green eyes), and a flagrant overindulgence in the drug scene.

Indeed, most who knew Hudson imagined nothing for him other than an overdose at an early age and the end of a short meaningless self-indulgent life.  That was until the fall of 74’ when his older brother Rodney returned home from Vietnam and helped Hudson find direction . . . eventually obtaining a Registered Nursing license and TCRN certification by 79’.

Eventually, Hudson hooked up with Loyal Source LLC (a company providing private civilian contract staffing to the government for healthcare and engineering work). They placed him in a civilian corps nursing position at Fort Meade MD and a classified project known as “Stargate” established by the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Although the pay was lucrative for a contracting job, as Hudson’s time on the project wore on, he began to sense something infinitely more ominous and sinister in the atmosphere of the project than merely testing subjects for nascent psychic capabilities.

Then, approximately 2 weeks ago, in mid-March 81’ Hudson stumbled upon something he was not ever intended to see - - Hudson oversaw something unspeakably terrifying and unnatural. It was at this point that his conscience (if not his sanity) was being stretched to breaking point and he felt he had no choice but to break his contract and resign.

Though no outward objection was made to his resignation and the mountain of requisite NDA’s summarily prepared for his signature - - Hudson has since not been able to shake the undeniable sense that his departure was seen as a problem and has awakened in a cold sweat more than once in the dead of night over the past two weeks from dreams of being stalked and hunted.

But paranoia aside, he is still a man of science and knows that what he saw surely has some grounded, scientific explanation.  Nevertheless, shaken as he is now, under these circumstances, feels it might be best to return to his beloved hometown of Bennington for a while, a place he feels a deep connection to, and feel grounded again.

Hudson intends to make the drive tomorrow, April 1, 1981.  Judging from the map, the drive (which will mostly be on I-95) should take about seven and a half hours (if the traffic isn’t too bad passing through New York).  He’s looking forward to it, after all, it’s a perfect opportunity for a road trip in his baby . . . his grey 1970 Chevelle SS 454 . . . indeed, Hudson defines himself by that car . . . and he wouldn’t be the same man without it.
